Rummage Sale
26th Annual Rummage Sale will be June 8 and 9 at the National Guard Armory from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Boone.
"Our goal this year is $20,000 for our 26th rummage sale. This large sum doesn't come easily, considering most items are a quarter or a dollar. Income from the rummage sale contributes to the cost of caring for the approximately 1,000 animals that come to us annually," according to chair Dee Dundon.
Having a vehicle, boat, trailer, or motorcycle to sell would be a huge boost toward meeting our $20,000 goal. The donor will receive a tax deduction.
If you want to shop
Whether you are looking for baby clothes, craft materials, bedding, kitchenware, furniture, exercise equipment or sporting goods, you will find it and more at the National Guard Armory on June 8 and 9 starting at 8 a.m. Clothing is organized by type, and nicer ladies clothing is in the ladies' boutique. You'll also find computers, shoes, antiques, books and records.
If you want to donate items
If possible, please deliver items for the rummage sale directly to Armory between Monday and Wednesday, June 4 - 6. Please do not drop off donations at the Armory before the week of June 4th. If you have items that need to be picked up, contact Dee Dundon to arrange a pickup during the week of the rummage sale. (Please, no hide-a-beds or appliances that don't work. )
If you want to help
Volunteers Needed! Anyone who would like to assist in setting up the rummage sale should contact Chairwoman Dee Dundon (264-9116, deedundon@bellsouth.net) or you are welcome to show up during event. Volunteers will empty our storage unit and barn on Sunday, June 3, using a rented truck and volunteers' vehicles. Set up at the Armory is 9 am to 4 pm from Monday through Thursday. Volunteers should sign in with Dee. For those who work during the week yet want to help, we always desperately need help on Sunday (June 10) for cleanup.
Please do not call the armory. Rather, reach Dee Dundon on her cell phone during the week of setup and the sale (265-9567).
